Name: Mr Abdulmuhaimen Al-Oraibi
Position: Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq
Date & Place of Birth: 22/12/1945, Mosul, Iraq
After completing his primary and high school education in Mosul, Mr Al-Oraibi obtained his BA in Economics and Management from Baghdad University in 1969. He went on to graduate from the Institute of Foreign Service in 1975.
Mr Al-Oraibi has been a career diplomat for 25 years and worked in various posts, both enjoyable and challenging, including Poland, Former Yugoslavia, North Korea, Turkey, Sweden, Australia, and Saudi Arabia.
Between September 2003 and October 2004 he worked at the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, Director of the Levant Section, in Baghdad.
Since October 2004, Mr Al-Oraibi has been posted to the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in the United Kingdom. From October 2004 to October 2007, he was Head of the Consular Section, before becoming Charge d’Affaires on the 1st of December 2007.
Mr Al-Oraibi is married with two daughters.
